Corralejo and Costa Calma hold a good share of this offer. We ourselves stayed in a villa with a pool in Lajares, in the north of the island, halfway between Corralejo (about 12 km to the east) and El Cotillo (about 8 km to the west): a village that cultivates a small fashion-and-makers spirit, driven by its Saturday craft market, and growing fast with many contemporary villas under construction — a safe bet for anyone after well-located independent accommodation.
Staying inland: a different experience
Away from the coastal resorts, a few casas rurales and boutique hotels offer a more intimate, authentic experience, at the heart of the volcanic landscapes of the island's centre. We ourselves stayed at Risco del Gato, a 4-star finca-style hotel near Villaverde, in the north of the island: private infinity pool, cactus garden and great calm — a good option for anyone looking to step off the classic tourist trail, even if it means moving a little away from the beaches.

On such a popular island, planning ahead remains your best ally. Booking several months in advance is essential in high season, especially for beachfront hotels in the four areas, which sell out from the autumn for the Christmas and February holidays.
